Everyday Witch Tarot

The Everyday Witch Tarot deck is filled with humor and optimism, but it is also a great tool for every Tarot practitioner. Card interpretations are based on the traditional Rider-Waite system. But at the same time, the images are easy to understand, especially for beginners.

The Everyday Witch Tarot deck review

This amazing deck was created by Deborah Blake in collaboration with artist Elisabeth Alba.

The Everyday Witch Tarot deck is filled with humor and optimism, but it is also a great tool for every Tarot practitioner.

Everyday Witch Tarot deck review

"We all try to live a balanced life, but let’s face it: few of us succeed. Like the witch on the card, we do our best to keep everything in sync, but life is full of unexpected challenges new is thrown into the mix and we are back to trying to find an even footing."

Card interpretations are based on the traditional Rider-Waite system. But at the same time, the images are easy to understand, especially for beginners.

The deck mixes the classic image of a witch from fairy tales with a modern way of life.  Sometimes you can suddenly notice contemporary objects or people's activities in drawings.  This is a fantasy world, but it intersects with our reality. The philosophy of this deck strongly resonates with modernity.

These cute and jolly cards are full of witchy stuff, like brooms, hoods, magic wands, pots of potion. And lovely cats are also there!

The cards are very bright-colored and picturesque. Images resemble illustrations from fairy tales.  You want to look at them a long while and discover funny details on them.

Along with the deck, the set contains a fairly voluminous book with a detailed description of the Arcana and color illustrations.  It also provides the main methods of divination on Tarot cards and several spreads. Each card description is filled with vivid phrases, images, and practical tips.

Despite their funny appearance, these cards are quite suitable for serious work and getting answers to the complex questions of our life.

The cards in the deck do not exactly match the RWS deck. Some of the images are very similar, for example, the Five of Pentacles. But others are very different, such as the Hierophant card.  Arcana, which have been traditionally bringing a negative sense (Tower, Death, Ten of Swords), are presented more positively here. But the general meaning of the cards is close to the Rider-Waite system.  The authors have tried to adapt the classical Tarot system for the modern world by adding humor, magic, and positive emotions.

As Deborah Blake herself notes, her approach to the Tarot is simple, clear, and devoid of excessive mysticism.  This method will teach you how to read cards and will help you not to get lost in complex esoteric matters.

Deborah Blake is a well-known Wicca follower, Tarot reader, and energy healer.  She is also the author of many tarot books and a deck creator. Deborah lives in a suburb of New York in an ancient house with plenty of cats.

Elisabeth Alba, who created the illustrations for the deck, is a master of fine arts and collaborates with many publishers.

Everyday Witch Tarot deck

Everyday Witch Tarot deck comes in a beautiful, large, hard box.  There are a magnetic latch and a ribbon for easy deck retrieval. The set also includes a book with descriptions about which I wrote earlier.

This is one of the most popular decks published in recent years.  Witch Tarot deck can be both naughty and serious at the same time.  And it is literally soaked with magic!
